In Grade Seven Literacy, we continue to build on the deeper understanding of writing, connecting it to important themes and issues in the broader world. Your child will explore fiction and non-fiction reading and writing projects, as well as vocabulary and sentence construction, summarizing, critical thinking, and more. 

The Grade Seven Literacy Curriculum also incorporates novel studies! The workbook is designed to keep students on track with their novel study reading through periodic check-ins. By the end of the workbook, your student will complete four Novel Study Reflections.

How Wee Learn's Grade Seven Literacy Curriculum includes:

The coursebook is divided into eight themes, each lasting four weeks. Within each theme, we follow the same structure:

  • Week One: Fiction Reading
  • Week Two: Fiction Writing
  • Week Three: Non-Fiction Reading
  • Week Four: Non-Fiction Writing

The Grade Seven Literacy Curriculum also incorporates novel studies. The workbook is designed to keep students on track with their novel study reading through periodic check-ins. After every two themes (every eight weeks), there is a one week culminating Novel Study Reflection. By the end of the workbook, your student will complete four Novel Study Reflections.

This is such a complete resource it’s almost overwhelming IN A FANTASTIC WAY!!! I have loved using this for our first month here at home and we are currently getting ready to take it on the road as we travel for a month and this curriculum is set up perfectly for going back and forth from home and travelling!! This curriculum is more than I could have even imagined! Its so beautiful and well thought out! We start our school year on September 1st, so i am still reading theoigh everything and setting up, but i am in love woth this curriculum!

I’ve really enjoyed the curriculum of How Wee Learn! It’s straight forward and streamlined so you get everything you need without a bunch of unnecessary fluff. It is also easy to do with your child- the instructions are really clear. The illustrations are beautiful, and there are a lot of different activities to do. I am completely in love! I love the daily organization, and I even moreso love how it lays out the skills being worked on each day. That part honestly sold me because it felt like everything I had been searching for on Pinterest was already laid out each week. The activities are so simple and yet I wouldn't have thought to do so many of them. I’m a second year homeschooling mom, first time creating a curriculum on my own. We are LOVING the family units. We are using them for our 1st, 4th, and 6th graders, and our 4 year old is tagging along. They are just so well put together: they’re engaging, fun, and long enough to gain great information but short enough to keep interest at all levels. I love the differentiation for the different grade levels of our kids, too. It’s empowering to see them recognize they all might be learning the same material, but they have different levels of understanding to go along with the knowledge.

I just wanted to let you know how much my kids are enjoying the math. We do it at what we call our circle time in the morning, and I call the math lessons the "story-activity" which has a more pleasant sound to my son than "math" (he doesn't love math!). They are enjoying it so much that we usually do at least two pages every morning. My son said tonight, "I LOVE the story-activity at circle time!" He's 6 and heading into grade two in the fall. We have worked on his math all year but it's been a challenge for me to find a way of making it feel creative, imaginative and fun. This fits the bill for us perfectly.
